Altec has over 25 years experience in the steel industry

 

We have been designing and supplying steel mill chains for various applications within the steel manufacturing process.  Our knowledge is based on supplying the following types of chains.

Design and Development

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail we take during the design stage of the project to ensure that the customers needs are fully met.

 

We specifically design the chain to suit the application, this means that we are able to provided the ideal chain for the application.

 

All chain materails are specifically selected for the application and in order that they operate correctly we carry out full load calculation to ensure the achieve the desired tensile, deflection and contact stress characteristics.  In addition we also heat treat the components to ensure the maximum wear life possible.

 

We can also offer a range of coating to increase corrosion resistence and provide lubrication during the bedding in of the chain.

Tata Steel were so happy with the work we did, they published it in their own magazine "Focus".
